Long Dtai by Chef David Thompson is located at the luxury 5-Star Cape Fahn Hotel, Private Islands, Samui.

Cape and Kantary Hotels partnered with Michelin-starred Chef David Thompson to open Long Dtai restaurant at the luxury Cape Fahn Hotel in Koh Samui. Chef David Thompson is a culinary figure known for his skill and expertise in Thai cuisine.

Aptly named Long Dtai, meaning “heading south,” the restaurant offers a fine-dining experience featuring traditional southern Thai food in Koh Samui. Long Dtai brings fresh, local produce and transforms them into feasts for the senses, from the aroma of the herbs and spices to the vibrantly coloured ingredients and delectable bursts of rich flavours of authentic Thai dishes.

Traditional Thai cuisine is levelled up through high-quality ingredients and perfected cooking techniques. Under the guidance of Chef David Thompson, Long Dtai has become Koh Samui’s pride as one of the internationally renowned restaurants in Thailand.

Take your palate on a gastronomic journey with our menu showcasing our regional cuisine. The menu highlights Thai seafood dishes, perfectly complementing the restaurant’s seaside venue and elegant yet relaxed atmosphere. Enjoy the rich flavours of Thai dishes with fresh seafood from prawns to crab, squid, and various fish, along with premium meat and fresh vegetables.

Starters include delectable seafood dishes, such as prawns in garuda claws and grilled squid gorlae. The main entrees feature exotic seafood, too, such as coconut and turmeric curry with blue swimmer crab. Our local-inspired dessert menu includes grilled bananas with coconut cream and palm sugar dumplings, a perfect way to end an authentic southern-Thai meal. The bar also serves a collection of local and foreign wines to accompany your dinner.
